Yemisi Ilesanmi is an experienced trade union organiser, consultant, advocate, human right activist, author, blogger and a passionate poet.
Yemisi Ilesanmi holds a Master's of Law degree in Gender, Sexuality and Human Rights and a Bachelor's degree in Law.

She is a frontline human right advocate; she campaigns, writes and speaks on a range of social justice issues including human rights, workers rights, gender and sexuality issues.
Yemisi Ilesanmi is the  author of the advocacy book 'Freedom To Love For All: Homosexuality is not Un-African'

She is  also the founder and coordinator of the campaign group 'Nigerian LGBTIs in Diaspora Against Anti Same Sex Laws'.

She founded and coordinate the advocacy group, Nigerian LGBTIs in Diaspora Against Anti Same Sex Laws. The group has organized peaceful advocacy rallies in London and New York, to create awareness on Equality and LGBT rights.

She wrote and designed her self-published advocacy book ‘Freedom to Love for ALL: Homosexuality is Not Un-African’. The book is available in paperback and Kindle edition on Amazon.  (www.amazon.com/dp/1481864815)

She assisted with the Union's relations with Trade Union Congress (TUC) including preparing TUC reports for NUT Executive members. She was also responsible for arranging and supervising the Union's presence at TUC's annual congress.

She helped implement the policies of the organization. She engaged in lobby and advocacy for progressive labour laws, decent work, decent pay, equality rights and workers rights. She acted as in-house lawyer; she attended to Unions' case files and gave legal advice and recommendations.

She was responsible for developing and organising programs on gender rights. She gave legal advice to women who approached the organisation for help.
